TSC Subsea Awarded Multi-Year Flexible Pipes Inspection Contract

TSC Subsea

TSC Subsea has been awarded a multi-year contract with a major operator for the subsea inspection of insulated flexible pipes in the pre-salt region offshore Brazil. The contract will see TSC Subsea deliver continuous inspection services from 2026 to 2029.

The award builds on an established inspection programme and reflects the client’s continued confidence in TSC Subsea’s technology, technical expertise, and consistent track record of delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality offshore operations.

Under the contract, TSC Subsea will deploy its ARTEMIS robotic inspection system, utilising proprietary Acoustic Resonance Technology (ART), to assess the integrity of flexible pipes, including the detection of unwanted media within the annulus region.

Flexible pipes play a critical role in offshore production but present inherent inspection challenges due to their multi-layered construction. If the outer sheath is compromised, seawater ingress into the annulus can create a corrosive environment, accelerating degradation of internal layers. Reliable inspection of this region is therefore essential to maintaining integrity, extending asset life, and reducing operational risk.

ART is capable of penetrating highly attenuative outer sheaths, insulation materials, anti-wear tapes, and other layered structures across a range of thicknesses and configurations. TSC Subsea has invested in the development of annulus medium detection methods (gas and liquid) across multiple flexible pipe types, establishing a robust portfolio of inspection baselines.

In addition to ART-based inspection, TSC Subsea will also deploy client-patented techniques, including subsea phased array ultrasonics and pressure monitoring methods, to support a comprehensive integrity assessment.

Fabio Puga, Country Manager – Brazil, commented:

“We are pleased to continue supporting our client through this contract. It reflects the trust placed in our technology and our people to deliver high-quality services offshore Brazil. I’m especially proud of our team, whose consistent performance and commitment have been key to building and maintaining this relationship, while continuing to advance our capabilities.”

This award adds to TSC Subsea’s growing portfolio of long-term inspection contracts and reinforces its position as a trusted provider of diverless, robotic inspection solutions for critical subsea infrastructure.
