Subsea Structure Inspection
Safeguarding Underwater Structures with Comprehensive Integrity Assessments.
Inspecting subsea structures can be demanding, often involving substantial costs and potential safety risks. ROV-deployed robotic inspections have emerged as the optimal solution when divers are not a viable option due to hazardous conditions. TSC Subsea has earned a commendable reputation for executing remote subsea robotic NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) integrity assessments of subsea structures. Our expertise extends to a diverse range of critical underwater structural assets, including offshore oil platforms, renewable energy installations, and both fixed and floating offshore wind turbines.
Subsea Structure Inspection
Our highly specialised team of NDT technicians use driverless ROV deployed inspection robotics to conduct Flooded Member Detection (FMD), corrosion mapping, wall thickness measurements and weld crack detection and sizing on a wide range of subsea structures.
We provide our clients with the data to correctly and efficiently manage and perform damage assessments on underwater structures and assets.
Subsea Structural NDT Methods
- Alternating Current Field Measurement (ACFM®)
Surface breaking crack detection and sizing in structural welds - Acoustic Resonance Technology (ART)
Advanced Flooded Member Detection (FMD) - Subsea Pulsed Eddy Current Testing Array (SPECTA™)
Subsea Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) inspection - Subsea Phased Array (SPA™)
Corrosion mapping and wall thickness measurements

Case Studies
Flooded Member Detection (FMD) of Complex Riser Caisson with Acoustic Resonance Technology (ART)
TSC Subsea received a request from Ocean Infinity on behalf of Orsted to perform a comprehensive Flooded Member Detection (FMD) inspection on a Riser Caisson. The purpose was to ascertain whether seawater had infiltrated the caisson or if it remained dry.
Offshore Drilling Rig Weld Inspection with Diverless ACFM
The need for this inspection arose from a recent visual assessment that reported a possible crack-like indication. The limitations of underwater visual inspections necessitated a more comprehensive evaluation to confirm weld integrity, allowing the client to make an informed decision on its operations.
ACFM NodeScanner Inspection of Offshore Wind Platform
Deck Launched Critical Diverless Weld Inspection for Offshore Wind Platform. Successful weld inspection carried out from the deck of an offshore wind platform using ACFM NodeScanner demonstrates transferable skills and technology from Oil and Gas sector.
