Loading and crude oil pipelines are high-value, high-risk assets. A single leak or rupture can halt exports, trigger costly emergency repairs and create serious environmental hazards.

Loading and offloading lines carry crude oil or refined products from offshore facilities, platforms or FPSOs, directly to onshore terminals or pipeline networks.

Their layouts often include bends and risers and lack pig-launch or receive facilities, or offer only a single access point. Over time, debris, sludge, and wax accumulate inside the pipes, obstructing conventional NDT techniques and preventing accurate wall-thickness measurements. As a result, these lines frequently go uninspected, leaving the integrity unknown and operators exposed to hidden corrosion, mechanical damage and wall-loss anomalies.
